about pro-vision
Target male population we serve.
Pro-Vision, Inc. has served thousands of young males, ages 11-18, from the Greater Houston Community through the Pro-Vision Manhood Program, the Pro-Vision All Male HISD Charter Middle School (the first single sex middle charter school in the state of Texas), and the Pro-Vision Job Enterprise/Entrepreneurship Academy.
Pro-Vision, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing Houston’s underserved young males into leaders of tomorrow. Founded in 1990 by former Philadelphia Eagles all-pro cornerback Roynell Young, the organization has helped more than 1,500 young males throughout the Greater Houston Area become leaders and productive citizens.
The Pro-Vision Middle Charter School is the first all male HISD charter school model in the state of Texas and the city of Houston. Former U.S. Secretary of Education and capital campaign honorary chair Rod Paige is an advocate of Pro-Vision’s cause and is championing the next era of its efforts through the building of the new training and outreach facilities.

Inspiring Hope and Purpose
Pro-Vision was created to avert a crisis among Houston’s underserved youth by engaging them in programs that instill accountability and construct personal relationships to help them understand their place in the world.
Pro-Vision’s mission is to inspire hope and purpose for individuals, families and communities through moral, cultural and educational opportunities. Pro-Vision is the parent company of three programs that address the challenges faced by the young males it serves:
- The Manhood Development Academy is a life changing integrity based developmental program that teaches moral and ethical living through mentoring relationships.
- The All Male Middle Charter School, the first all male charter school in Houston and the state of Texas, addresses the special needs of fifth through eighth grade students who desire a "second chance" at achieving academic success.
- The Enterprise Academy Program is designed to fulfill the economic and social potential of participants by teaching them the skills they need to become productive in the workplace and as entrepreneurs.
Our Future
November 2008, Pro-Vision relocated to its new 16-acre campus in Houston ’s southeastern neighborhood, Sunnyside. The campus is the result of a $7.6 million capital campaign, of which Pro-Vision is now in the 3rd phase, having raised more that $3.5 million among private foundations, individuals and its board of directors. The Sunnyside neighborhood has few organizations with programs targeted to its youth; therefore, Pro-Vision is serving as a major center for educational and cultural services in this community and beyond.
