Sunnyside Up: Brighter Futures For Our Youth

Click the testimonial videos below to see firsthand how your generosity has changed lives and will continue to create brighter futures for the young men and young women of the Sunnyside community.

Jartis Watts

President of Akisha Networks, Inc.

Jartis Watts was raised by his grandparents after his mother gave birth to him at the young age of 17, Jartis grew up in a community plagued by poverty and crime. Violence was a daily reality—he was only 12 years old when his uncle was killed in front of him. With no role models and no guidance, he recalls: “I never had a male role model talk to me about real life and mentor me.”

That changed when Jartis joined Pro-Vision’s Manhood Development Program. For the first time, he had mentors, like Pro-Vision, Inc.’s Founder Coach Roy, who believed in him and taught him that there were no limits to what he could achieve. “We don’t have to be victims of our own circumstances—unless we choose to be.”

Through the Manhood Development Program, Jartis discovered his entrepreneurial spirit and experienced opportunities he never imagined—like his first trip outside Houston on a field trip to Mississippi. He became the first in his family to attend college, graduating at the top 5% of his class and receiving his bachelor's of science in Physics and a minor in Math from Sam Houston State University. Today, he is the President of his company, ANI, building a legacy that inspires not only his younger cousins but future generations.

“We are not victims of our circumstances—unless we choose to be.”

“Pro-Vision, Inc. showed me that my circumstances didn’t define my future.”

Dante Tillman

Aquaponics Assistant Manager at Pro-Vision/McNair Urban Farm

Growing up in Sunnyside, life wasn’t easy for Dante Tillman. Poverty was everywhere, and crime was a constant shadow for him. People around him didn’t believe in him—and always told him he would never amount to anything. But when he was just a 5th grader with big dreams, Coach Roy and Pro-Vision, Inc. believed in him when no one else did. Through Pro-Vision, Inc.’s transformative Manhood Development Program and the Job Enterprise Academy, Dante found purpose and direction.

“Pro-Vision, Inc. showed me that my circumstances didn’t define my future.” That support helped Dante earn his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Animal Science from Prairie View A&M University—something no one thought was possible for him.

Today, he is proud to give back as an Urban Farm & Aquaponics Assistant at the Pro-Vision/McNair Urban Farm— helping plant the same seeds of hope that once changed my life.

Your end-of-year donation doesn’t just give, it transforms. Your gift today provides mentorship, education, and opportunity for the next generation of youth to break cycles of poverty and build brighter futures.
