Pro-Vision Academy’s 2014 Valedictorian and Salutatorian Receive Assistance League Scholarships
Pro-Vision Academy seniors Treavon Tryon and Willie Turner, III, the 2014 Valedictorian and Salutatorian respectively, were recently invited to attend an awards breakfast at the Assistance League of Houston’s chapter house in Montrose, TX. The League awarded a total of $91,000 for the 2014-2015 school year to 57 students from nine different high schools in the area.
Both Mr. Tryon and Mr. Turner were awarded $2,000 in scholarships by the League, which can be used for their freshman year tuition so long as they attend a Texas state college or university. At this time Mr. Tryon plans to attend Texas A&M in the Fall, while Mr. Turner plans to attend Texas State University. The ALH scholarship sub-chair Ms. Mary Roediger was instrumental in helping the Pro-Vision students receive these valuable scholarship opportunities.
“We’re so proud of Treavon and Willie,” said Roy Young, Pro-Vision’s Executive Director and CEO. “They are talented young men that have worked hard to position themselves for a bright future in college. The scholarships from the Assistance League of Houston will go a long way towards making that a reality.”

For 30 years the Assistance League of Houston has been presenting local seniors with scholarships for college in an effort to help them reach their full academic potential. Since its beginning the scholarship program has awarded a total of $1.6 million dollars to hundreds of students. Along the way partners like Houston Community College have teamed up with the ALH to join their efforts in brightening the future of so many exceptional students.
